Selected engagements
All engagements are anonymised. Further detail available on request, subject to confidentiality.
Multi-party fraud investigation — listed healthcare group
A large listed healthcare group collapsed into administration following the discovery of a major fraud. Brought in as part of the forensic team to investigate the fraud and support multiple parallel legal proceedings — court and arbitral claims against creditors, auditors, banks, and former management.
Work included reviewing communications and preparing evidence memos, supporting legal teams in drafting statements of claim, carrying out specific aspects of an accounting restatement, and managing a process to collect evidence from third parties under statutory powers.
Short-seller rebuttal — listed software company
A short-seller published a report on a listed software business shortly before its accounts were finalised and its reporting deadline with the stock exchange. Brought in as co-lead of a team instructed by a special committee of the board, working alongside the company's Swiss and US lawyers.
Responsible for analysing R&D capitalisation for prior years through staff interviews and calculation review, reviewing the cost base against the short-seller's allegations, and inputting to the lawyers' report on complex accounting matters. No material evidence found to support the core claims.
Bank regulatory response — Geneva private bank
A private bank was simultaneously responding to the US tax authority regarding historic accounts and under investigation by the Swiss financial regulator for AML failures. Effectively seconded to the bank for over a year, managing a team of ten compliance officers reviewing all high-risk client files.
Developed the review process, presented high-risk findings directly to the management board, and managed a complex client relationship throughout. The regulator signed off on the work and the bank retained its licence.
Governance and financial investigation — international sports federation
Instructed by the governing body of a major international sport to investigate its federation, which was near-bankrupt and subject to allegations of mismanagement and potential corruption relating to commercial arrangements with third parties.
Reviewed the finances of the federation, identified high-risk and problematic items, tracked cash flows, and reviewed internal controls. The findings contributed to the federation being suspended and the sport's events being managed directly by the instructing body at the subsequent games.
Rogue trader investigation — commodity trading company
One trading desk at a commodity trading company was consistently generating losses. Reviewed trades on the desk and reconstructed financial flows to identify where controls had failed and whether fraud had occurred.
Established a pattern consistent with a rogue trader scenario in which an initial loss was concealed and subsequent trades were made in an attempt to recover the position. Prepared a report recommending new controls to reduce the risk of recurrence.
Background and experience
Forensic accounting background
Nearly 15 years in senior roles across some of the world's largest consulting firms. The forensic discipline — assimilating complex financial information, identifying what is hidden or misunderstood, and delivering clear conclusions under pressure — is the foundation of every engagement.
Board-level experience
Experience on both sides of the boardroom table, as executive and non-executive director. This perspective — knowing what information boards need, and how it typically gets filtered before it reaches them — informs every governance engagement.
Cross-sector and cross-border
Work across multiple industries and jurisdictions. The ability to translate complex financial and regulatory findings into clear, practical guidance is consistent regardless of sector or geography.
Chartered Accountant (ACA)
Qualified Chartered Accountant. The technical foundation for forensic and compliance work, combined with the investigative and analytical approach developed across major consulting firm engagements.
"She proactively identified potential compliance risks, suggested structural changes, and provided actionable remediation plans. Her ability to translate complex financial and regulatory information into clear, practical guidance was invaluable."
Working alongside legal counsel
Most forensic engagements involve legal counsel. Here is how that typically works.
Confidentiality
Every engagement begins with an NDA if required. Documents are handled with strict confidentiality. Findings are shared only with the instructing party unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Working under instruction
I work as part of multi-disciplinary teams and am comfortable taking instruction from legal counsel. Findings are prepared to be useful in a legal or regulatory context — clear, supported, and defensible.
Independence
I am an independent practitioner with no affiliations to accounting firms, law firms, or corporate advisory houses. Where formal independence is a requirement of the engagement, this can be confirmed in writing.
Making an introduction
A short email describing the nature of the matter is the best starting point. I respond to all introductions promptly and can confirm availability and scope quickly.
